Frequently Asked Questions:

  • We work with most PPO dental insurance providers to maximize your dental insurance plan benefits. Dental insurance plans have not yet caught up to our innovative approach to preventive dental care, therefore most patients will still need to pay out of pocket at the time of service. However since many of our procedures are covered benefits you can expect to get reimbursed by your PPO insurance at close to 100%. We do all the legwork and insurnce submissions - all you have to do is wait for a check in the mail, which is typically sent out within one to two weeks.

  • We are in the business of preventing dental caries and find it to be a conflict of interest to also be treating caries. Therefore, we do not restore cavities at our dental practice. However we will provide you with a detailed treatment plan and we will help you find a local dentist you will love.

  • Periodontal (gum) disease is complicated. It often starts with plaque that migrates below the gumline and hardens turning into calculus which can be very tenacious and difficult to remove. This subgingival calculus often harbors harmful bacteria which further propagate the disease and cause bone loss and gum recession. Once periodontal disease has set in, more drastic measures are necessary. If this is the case, we will help you choose a local periodontist who will be able to address your complex periodontal needs. The data we gain through our thorough diagnosis and microbiome analysis will often times be very helpful in your long term periodontal health maintenance.

  • It depends - periodontal scaling and root planing (SRP) is often colloquially referred to as deep cleaning, however often times SRPs are not warranted and we are able to stave off periodontal disease with our preventive measures! If the disease process has progressed beyond prevention, we will help you find a local periodontist who will be able to help you regain your periodontal health!
